One of the positions Real Madrid have well covered for the foreseeable future is the right side of the defense, with both Dani Carvajal and Alvaro Odriozola under contract for a few more years at least. However, that hasn’t stopped rumours of a potential new addition to what already looks like a crowded defensive line.

According to a report from German outlet Bild, Los Merengues are being linked with a move for Stuttgart star right-back Benjamin Pavard. The 22-year-old full-back was an integral part of the French side that lifted the 2018 FIFA World Cup title, and scored the best goal of the tournament against Argentina in the Round of 16.

However, that move could be very far from happening. Aside from the fact that Real Madrid have that position covered, Stuttgart are also reluctant to part ways with one of their best players. They already rejected Madrid’s first approach, for what is worth. It seems as if they are waiting to see just how much money they can get for the talented defender.

There will be a lot of competition for Pavard’s services, though. Arsenal and Tottenham are both very interested in the talented right-back, but Bayern Munich and PSG are also in the mix. So it seems to be a matter of when, not where he will go.
