Borussia Dortmund need to find a replacement for Christian Pulisic, who will join Chelsea once the current season ends. And since the Bundesliga giants are keen to continue their model of signing young, up-and-coming players, they’ve set their sights on Borussia Monchengladbach star Thorgan Hazard.
However, the interest could be mutual since a recent report from Kicker informed that Thorgan Hazard is “incredibly intent” on joining Borussia Dortmund during the upcoming summer transfer window. Hazard wants to complete his rumoured move away from Borussia Monchengladbach once the season ends, although given that he will be out of a contract in 2020, there’s always a chance he could leave as a free agent.
Dortmund are not the only side keen on Hazard, though, since Liverpool have also been linked with a move for the Belgium international. However, all signs point to Dortmund leading the chase and if nothing odd happens, it’s likely that he will remain playing in the Bundesliga for the foreseeable future.
The 26-year-old playmaker has been with Borussia Monchengladbach since 2015, when he made a permanent switch over from Chelsea. He couldn’t thrive with The Blues and was constantly under the shadow of his brother Eden, but he’s now established himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe.
