Chelsea make fresh £30m N’Golo Kante transfer bid

N’Golo Kante, 25, is edging closer to the exit door with Chelsea reported to have made a £30m bid for his services. French newspaper, Le Parisien, claims that the Blues contacted Leicester and as has become their way this summer, swiftly reached an agreement with the club over the fee.

The terms of the deal are not yet resolved which gives Leicester a window of opportunity to change the player’s mind. They recently made a new contract offer to the accomplished midfielder and are waiting to find out whether the £100,000 was enough to make him stay at the King Power.

Kante was resolute in his determination to decide his future after Euro 2016. Having started the group matches and the first knockout game, he was disappointed when suspension ruled him out of the quarter-final with Iceland.

After Moussa Sissoko, 26, played a key role in a sparkling French performance, Kante had to watch from the sidelines as France lost the final to Eder’s goal in extra-time.

Leicester are determined to keep hold of their man but Kante has made no secret of his preference for a move to Stamford Bridge. Personal terms have already been agreed and now all that remains is for the clubs to thrash out the sale contract.
