AS Monaco are keen to bolster their attacking line ahead of the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season that begins this weekend. And they have already identified their desired target.
According to a recent report from Tuttosport, the Ligue 1 giants are interested in the possibility of signing Ivan Perisic this summer. Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were keen on signing the Croatia international this summer, but the move didn’t pay off. And now the French side wants to make sure Perisic leaves the Italian Serie A for good.
Perisic himself has stated he is in favour of a move to the English Premier League. However, now it seems France will be his destination if the negotiations between both parties are successful.
Perisic is considered by many to be one of the most underrated midfielders in world football today, which is why equally as many pundits and fans are surprised to see that he hasn’t been snapped up by one of the bigger sides. Can Monaco take advantage of that and steal him from the noses of other clubs interested in him?
The talented winger enjoyed a fine season for Inter Milan in 2018-19, netting eight goals and adding four assists across 34 Serie A appearances.
