Galatasaray could make one of the biggest signings of the Turkish Super League in recent memory. The Super Lig giants could be close to complete a move for AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao in the coming days, according to a report from Spanish outlet Marca.
The talented forward began to make waves in River Plate back in 2001, although some of his best moments came in Europe when he used to play for FC Porto and Atletico Madrid. Having racked up 45 goals in 111 games for River Plate, he later netted 72 times in 87 matches for Porto and 70 times in 91 matches for Los Colchoneros.
Falcao then moved to Monaco and while he has suffered lots of injury problems, he remains one of the most talented strikers in the world and someone who inspires fear on opposing defences. And there’s no question he would be a quality signing for the Super Lig context.
According to Falcao’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, the 33-year-old wants to the deal to be completed but there’s not a lot of information available on whether the deal will be done, or when it can be announced. But don’t be surprised if the all-time scoring leader of the Colombian National Team ends up plying his trade on Turkish soil next term.
