One of the most coveted centre-backs in Europe could be in line to move to a bigger side in the coming months.
According with several reports, it is increasingly likely that Dayot Upamecano will leave RB Leipzig as soon as the transfer window opens next summer. Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for the prospect, but they are not alone in the race to sign him.
AC Milan have also shown plenty of interest to sign the defender, but the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City have all been mentioned as possibilities as well. In fact, all the aforementioned team were credited with an interest in Upamecano before he opted to move to the Bundesliga from Red Bull Salzburg in January.
Per reports, United have been tipped to make a winter window bid as Jose Mourinho is keen to make a splash for defensive help considering Victor Lindelof has not adapted as expected. But Milan might do the same thing as well, as their campaign started on the wrong note despite making several signings in the summer.
Upamecano is considered one of the best U21 defenders in the world, and there is no doubt he is talented enough to play on a bigger team. And whether he joins the Serie A or the Premier League, all signs indicate he is ready to take the next step in his career.
