PSG are interested to bolster their defensive line and if the recent reports are deemed as true, then the current Ligue 1 champions have already identified the man they want to sign to strengthen their back line. According to a report from Spanish outlet Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have made Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt their top transfer target ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old defender is set to leave the Eredivisie champions this summer, but his destination remains unknown. Barcelona are considered to be leaders to sign him and  Manchester United have also shown interest. But the fact that PSG entered the race should suggest that there’s no clarity on where the Dutch star will play next year.

Ajax are rumoured to be asking for around €70 million in order to start talks with other sides, but considered three of the biggest clubs in the world are keen on him, it wouldn’t be shocking if Ajax end up receiving a nine-figure transfer bid for the Oranje star. The Dutch international is widely considered to be one of the top young players in Europe.

Don’t be surprised to see PSG looking to bolster their defensive line. Considering Dani Alves and Thiago Silva are not getting younger and Pascal Kimpembe’s poor form in the second half of the season, it makes sense for the French giants to add at least one or two defenders this upcoming summer.
