Leicester City have been one of the most surprising teams in the 2019/20 Premier League season so far. And while they might not repeat what they did a few years ago when they lifted the Premier League title, there’s no question several top teams are already looking at their best players.
James Maddison has been linked with a move away from King Power Stadium, and Harry Maguire already left the club to join Manchester United. Another Leicester defender could move to the other side of Manchester, however, as Manchester City are eyeing up a January move for centre-back Caglar Söyüncü.
The Turkish centre-back has been one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League this term, and his performances have caught the eye of several top sides. Spanish manager Pep Guardiola is particularly keen on him, as he sees the 23-year-old as the ideal addition to the side, especially after the injuries sustained by both Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.
Laporte tore his ACL and will be out for most of the year, while Stones is expected to be out until November at the earliest. Considering that scenario, The Citizens’ interest for the Turkey international makes perfect sense.
Söyüncü, who has won 25 caps with Turkey, has played seven games with Leicester this season already.
