Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly open at the idea of making a move for Ajax star Hakim Ziyech, who has been tearing it up for the Dutch giants in both the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League. And a former Dutch international who featured for both clubs is looking to see the move completed sooner than later.
During a recent interview with Voetbal Primeur, former Tottenham Hotspur star Rafael van der Vaart confirmed that he had contacted Daniel Levy in the hope of persuading him to sign Ajax star Hakim Ziyech during next summer’s transfer window.
“I really hope he goes to Tottenham Hotspur, I sent a message today to [Daniel] Levy, I said: Get Ziyech after this season”, he said. “I am convinced that he becomes a sensation in London, and I also wish him that.”
Ziyech has made an instant impact at Ajax since joining the club and, after an impressive run of performances during last season’s UEFA Champions League, many expected him to leave the side this summer. Such wasn’t the case, however, and Ziyech remains at Amsterdam. At least for now.
All signs point towards Ziyech leaving the Amsterdam side this next summer. Expect the Spurs to be major players for the talented winger if he’s made available.
