AS Roma are desperate to bolster their midfield depth ahead of next season, as the team might see a lot of changes to their current squad in the upcoming summer.
Considering that Daniele De Rossi is not getting any younger and acknowledging the fact that both Radja Nainggolan and Alessandro Florenzi might leave as well, the Giallorossi side are active on the market looking for alternatives to sign. And apparently they have set their sights on Jean Michael Seri and Mateo Kovacic, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
Seri is a name every football fan should be aware of by now. Even though he plays for Nice in the French Ligue 1, he has been constantly linked with a move away from the club and sides such as FC Barcelona, PSG and Manchester United have set their sights on him. Roma are the latest club to join the race for the Ivorian, as he can be the perfect replacement in case Nainggolan leaves.
Kovacic’s case is far easier. The Croatian does not have a lot of minutes in Real Madrid and considering that situation is not likely to change any time soon, the best alternative might be to leave elsewhere to a team where he could find regular first-team minutes.
Both players are keen to leave their respective clubs so we might have some important news regarding Roma sooner than later.
