The 18-year-old U.S.A. international is keen to gain first-team football on a regular basis and confirmed he is to leave the perennial French champions this winter. No deal is yet in place but the son of Liberian president and former AC Milan star & Balon d’Or winner George Weah is keen to discuss his options with his family and advisers.
Speaking via Instagram, he said:
“I love you and I know you will go to the end and you will take the cup this year, God is with you all. I will miss the fans as well as the energy you bring to each game. I love you and God bless you.
“I hope that after these six months, I will be ready to return to the Parc des Princes and give everything to make you proud to be Parisian.”
Celtic stretched their lead at the top of the Premiership table to three points from fierce local rivals Rangers as the league heads into its’ winter break. Fixtures recommence at the end of January giving Weah plenty of time to embed with the squad.
With the Bhoys already completing the first leg of what would be a staggering third consecutive treble, Weah may be swapping one dominant team for another.
