Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha is the latest target for the Chinese Super League with the Ivory Coast international the subject of interest from Dalian Yifang, claims the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old is a vital member of the Eagles fight for Premier League survival and until recently, the south London outfit hadn’t won without him in the side. Now Roy Hodgson’s men put that right with a 1 – 0 victory over Leicester City at Selhurst Park.

Dalian Yifang, managed by former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid star Bernd Schuster, are reported to have offered former Manchester United flop Zaha a staggering £11m per year salary after tax if he moves to the Far East. The potential January move would effectively TRIPLE his current £130,000 per week wage at Palace.

With bonuses and travel, it’s a lucrative deal which will be hard for the player to resist. Even with no willingness on their part to sell, Crystal Palace are fighting a losing battle if it comes down to money. A player’s head will easily be turned by those eyewatering sums.

However, Zaha is also being eyed by a number of European clubs according to the Mail report. If it becomes a battle between wages and winning major trophies, even an immensely wealthy Chinese Super League will lose out. If Palace successfully bat away Dalian Yifang’s interest, it may only prove to be a temporary halt to a seemingly inevitable departure.
