It is not a secret that Claudio Bravo is not comfortable at Manchester City. The Chilean goalkeeper has been Ederson’s backup this season, and he would try to leave the club during the upcoming transfer window in an effort to get first-team football as quickly as possible.
There have been several teams linked with a move for the Chile international, and the latest side to emerge as a potential escape alternative is no other than Napoli. The Serie A giants are rumored to be in the market for a starting goalkeeper since Pepe Reina is all but certain to leave the side once the current season ends.
However, landing Bravo is not as easy as it sounds for Napoli. Even though The Citizens are quite likely to negotiate for Bravo since Ederson is not going to leave the side any time soon, the main road block would be Bravo’s huge wages since he earns more than $4 million per year. Napoli are not in conditions to offer him such wages, so the alternatives are two: either he lowers his expectations, or Manchester City offer to pay some of the wages on a loan deal.
Bravo has been with Manchester City since 2016. He previously played for FC Barcelona and Real Sociedad, and has also won 119 caps for the Chilean National Team.
