Napoli have been quite active over the current transfer market, as they are keen to bolster their attacking depth. With no reliable alternative in case Lorenzo Insigne or Jose Callejon suffer an injury, signing a winger quickly became a priority for the Serie A giants.
And based on recent reports they have accomplished their objective, as La Gazzetta dello Sport have indicated that the Serie A leaders have agreed a deal to sign Amin Younes from Ajax.
The talented winger will be out of contract at the end of the season, and Napoli decided to pounce on the opportunity. They submitted a €5 million bid and Ajax accepted it, as the Eredivisie side knew they were going to lose him for free if they couldn’t get any sort of value for the 24-year-old.
A former Germany U21 international, Younes is considered one of the most interesrting prospects in Europe due to his ability to play all over the final third. He profiles best as a winger, however, where he can create havoc with his pace, skill, and flair.
Younes joined Ajax in July 2015 from Borussia Monchengladbach. He registered 17 goals and 24 assists in 96 matches across all competitions for the Dutch giants, but he did not have much to prove at that level. Napoli beat Swansea City for the signature of the German starlet, who now will have the chance to show he can play in one of Europe’s top teams.
