Mesul Özil Keen To Swap Arsenal For Manchester United

Most of the transfer talk surrounding Arsenal has centered in Alexis Sanchez’s potential departure. However, Mesut Özil could leave the club at the end of the season as well. And the Germany international already has a prefered destination if he does not extend his contract with The Gunners.

According to a report from The Mirror, the former Werder Bremen and Real Madrid playmaker does not want to extend his deal with the Emirates Stadium outfit. And is keen about joining Manchester United to play for Jose Mourinho.

In fact, the 28-year-old could let his deal run down and become a free agent next summer if that helps forcing a move to Old Trafford. It has been suggested that a switch to Old Trafford might not be as far-fetched as it may seem, saying “Ozil’s advisors have put out feelers over a potential move and the feedback has been encouraging.”

Mourinho is a long-time admirer of Özil, and has him at the top of his wish list for the upcoming transfer window alongside Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann. But United would have to be determined to acquire him, as the German is asking for a salary of £250,000 per week.

He might not fit as well as other players, but Mourinho wants him. And based on recent reports, it seems more and more likely that Özil will be wearing Manchester United’s red during the 2018/19 season.
