Bayern Munich have not had a very good season. However, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be scouting the market looking to improve the squad with some of the best players in the world. And that is exactly what they are targeting right now.
According to German outlet Kicker, the reigning Bundesliga champions are looking to make a move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir, widely considered as one of the best players in the French Ligue 1. The German powerhouses are said to be lining up “a major bid” for the talented playmaker, although it is not clear when they will approach the French club for a transfer.
The aforementioned report indicated that Bayern could very well make a January approach for Fekir, although everything will depend on where Lyon are in the standings come that time. But one thing is clear: Bayern have been underperforming this season and adding a player of Fekir’s caliber could be exactly what they need to begin their turnaround.
Per several reports, Lyon value Fekir at €70 million, although it doesn’t seem like money is going to be an issue for Bayern given their current situation. His current deal should ensure that he remains at Lyon until 2020, although if the offer from Germany is good enough, then Lyon will certainly take it under consideration. If they pay that amount of money, then Fekir would become Bayern’s most expensive signing in club’s history.
Fekir has been linked to a series of different European clubs over the course of the last few months, including Liverpool and Arsenal. Will he end up playing in the Bundesliga?
