Renato Sanches’ time at Bayern Munich is coming close to an end.
The Portuguese midfielder, who struggled to settle on German soil and was even sent out on loan so he could re-discover his best form, is now close to leave Die Roten for good and will reportedly join Ligue 1 side Lille. According to a report from L’Equipe, only details are missing to complete his move to the French side.
In fact, recent reports have indicated that the only thing missing to finalise Sanches’ move is the medical, but that is expected to be completed in the coming days.
The former Benfica star will become Lille’s all-time most expensive signing for a fee of €20million, although that’s not a lot of money for the French club after they sold Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal for a fee close to €80m. It was expected the club would re-invest that kind of money in different areas of the squad.
Sanches is likely to sign either a four-year contract or a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 outfit, which would set him on a new path following the tough three years he has had at Bayern. In fact, Sanches was fined by Bayern earlier this week in a clear sign that he simply doesn’t want to be at Bayern anymore.
Renato Sanches has won 18 caps with the Portugal national team throughout his career.
