Fraser Forster will be returning to the Scotland Premier League ahead of the 2019-20 football season.
According to several reports, the goalkeeper has completed a loan move to join Celtic from Southampton this Thursday. It will be a season-long loan move, although it has not been announced whether Celtic will have the option to buy the goalkeeper on a permanent basis once the current campaign comes to an end.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who has won six caps with the England national team, actually joined Southampton from the Scottish Premier League champions back in 2014 for a £11.25m fee.
Forster made just one appearance last season for Southampton, as he spent most of the season backing up Angus Gunn, in a 0-3 defeat against West Ham United. Considering things were not expected to change ahead of the 2019/20 season, Forster decided to return to the club where he has played most of his career.
Forster has made 197 appearances for Celtic during this career, conceding 157 goals but also keeping an impressive 101 clean sheets. He is expected to be Celtic’s first-choice goalkeeper during this season.
