Tottenham prepare £18m transfer bid for Andriy Yarmolenko

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make a move for Dynamo Kiev’s Andriy Yarmolenko, 26.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a keen admirer of the Ukrainian winger, who was previously a target for Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea.

Dynamo are believed to want £18m for Yarmolenko, who has scored 25 goals in his 62 appearances for his country. He played in all three games of Ukraine’s hugely unimpressive Euro 2016 campaign which ended with no goals and no points as they propped up their group.

Despite playing a wide role for his club, the 26 year-old has been a prolific scorer in domestic football with 83 goals in 198 Premier League appearances for Dynamo. He has scored twice in his three appearances so far this season.

Pochettino is keen to add depth to his attacking options this summer and reduce Spurs reliance on Harry Kane.

The Argentinian has already signed Vincent Janssen, 22, this summer from AZ Alkmaar with the Dutch international making his home debut this weekend in the home win over Crystal Palace.

Yarmolenko has been identified as an ideal supply line for the north London club’s strikers as they seek to rekindle last season’s title challenge.
