Matteo Darmian has been linked with an exit from Manchester United for quite a while now. The Italian full-back lost the starting job he held earlier this season, and right now it seems he is nothing more than a back-up alternative for Jose Mourinho.
The former Torino star will likely consider his option if he can’t turn things around by the season’s end, but apparently there are a few teams that are already showing interest in a potential transfer this upcoming summer. According to reports coming out of both England and Italy, Juventus are keen to make a move for the out-of-favour Italy international.
The 28-year-old has barely played for The Red Devils this season, and during the past few weeks he has been relegated to a secondary role, playing in Cup matches but rarely seeing the pitch on both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League. In fact, he is yet to see action in the EPL or the UCL in 2018.
Juventus seem ready to take advantage of his situation, and they see Darmian as the perfect replacement for Stephen Lichtsteiner, who is likely to leave the team once his current contract ends. Darmian would not only be a decent replacement, but would also represent an upgrade going forward.
Darmian has also played for Torino, Palermo and Padova in the past. He is also an Italy international, so he has enough international experience to fit in quite well in a star-studded Juventus squad.
