Bayern Munich are already thinking towards how to improve the team’s squad for the upcoming season. And even though they already boast one of the best teams all over Europe, they have set their sights in one of the most talented young players in the Bundesliga.

We are talking about none other than Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey. According to a report from ESPN, the reigning Bundesliga champions have apparently submitted a massive €60million bid for the Leverkusen star winger. However, Bayer are not willing to part ways with their star player unless they receive a massive offer around the €100 million mark.

Bayern would face tough competition to acquire the Jamaican, however, as Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in the 20-year-old and wouldn’t have problems to top Bayern’s offer. And understandably so, it’s easy to imagine Leverkusen being far more willing to sell Bailey to Real Madrid. Leverkusen probably wouldn’t want to strengthen a direct opponent.

In fact, the aforementioned report went as far as saying that Madrid have contacted Jorge Mendes to explore the possibility of bringing the Jamaican to Santiago Bernabeu. But Bayern have been the only side that has submitted an offer and on that aspect, they would be keen to make a move as soon as possible since most directors see Bailey as the perfect long-term replacement for both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, two world-class wingers that are now well past their prime years.

Bailey scored nine times for Leverkusen in 2017/18.
