Alvaro Morata has not adjusted as expected to life in England and could be headed for a new team – again – during the upcoming transfer market since he is quite likely to leave Chelsea.
The Blues have Olivier Giroud upfront, while both Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi are expected to return to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2018-19 season. And considering how successful Batshuayi was at Dortmund, now tbe Bundesliga side would be interested in his teammate and Spain international forward.
The Mirror reported the news that Dortmund were interested in Morata, although they view him as a back-up plan in case they can’t acquire Batshuayi on a long-term basis. However, Dortmund would have competition to sign Morata as both Juventus and Atletico Madrid would also be keen to land the coveted forward.
Morata hasn’t had the kind of season everyone was expecting out of him – mostly because of his massive price tag – but still has been able to score 11 goals in 31 Premier League outings. But since his future at Stamford Bridge might depend on who takes the reigns of the team since Antonio Conte is all but gone, Morata might try to escape as soon as possible.
The 25-year-old is expected to headline Spain’s attack in the upcoming 2018 World Cup. He has won 23 caps and netted 13 goals for La Roja.
