They might sit at the top of the Liga standings and could be on the running to win three titles this season, but Barcelona are always looking at the market with an eye towards improving the team on both the short-term and long-term picture.
And according to reports from the Dutch press, Los Blaugranas are the latest club to have joined the chase for Ajax starlet Justin Kluivert. Dutch daily newspaper De Telegraaf reported that the Liga giants are tracking the 18-year-old, and could submit a bid for his services as soon as this next summer.
If the last name Kluivert sounds familiar, it’s because Justin is the son of former Dutch striker and Barcelona star Patrick Kluivert. Just like his father, Justin is turning heads with his displays at a very young age and he is thriving at Ajax, where he has scored six goals in 20 Eredivisie appearances this season.
The 18-year-old is already on the radar of top European clubs, with Barcelona now hot on his trail. The likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in the forward’s signature, and Manchester City were also mentioned in the past. So we might be on the verge of a bidding between some of the biggest clubs in the world to capture the forward’s services.
