Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been one of the hottest names in the transfer market this summer.
The Gabon international has been trying to force a move away from Borussia Dortmund over the past few months, but it seems he will not get his wish granted and will remain with the Bundesliga for at least one more year.
The news was confirmed by club officials, as they wanted to solve Aubameyang’s future as soon as possible. And since they could not reach an agreement with either Chelsea or AC Milan to sell their star forward, it is now understood that Dortmund do not want to do any more business this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Manchester City have also been linked with the Gabon international, but neither team was able to meet Dortmund’s demands. Aubameyang is under contract with Dortmund until 2020, and now all signs indicate he will remain at Signal Iduna Park for the foreseeable future.
This is certainly music to Dortmund fans, as they did not want to lose one of their best players in recent years. Aubameyang finished as the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season with 31 goals, and netted 40 times in 46 games across all competitions for BVB as they won the DFB-Pokal Cup.
