Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic is at the centre of a tug of love between Barcelona and Chelsea reports Goal.
The 21-year-old has 19 goals in 28 appearances so far this season as Die Adler rose to their current seventh place in the Bundesliga.
It’s an impressive turnaround in the fortunes of a striker who struggled to settle in the Commerzbank Arena. Nine goals in 27 appearances in the first season of a two-year loan deal didn’t hint at the prolific nature of his second campaign.
Eintracht, 8th in last season’s Bundesliga, signed the Serbia international during the summer of 2017 on loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of this season.
It might be a short-lived transfer. Barcelona are keen to add a striker to the roster this summer and are looking closely at the Serb who was a bit-part member of the country’s squad at Russia 2018. He featured in the 2 – 0 defeat against Brazil but has yet to score in his three appearances for the senior team.
Short-lived but profitable. Frankfurt has the option of signing Jovic for €6m and are keen to receive €60m in the transfer window at the season’s end.
