There is no question David Luiz wants to leave Chelsea as soon as possible. The defender is currently out of favour with Antonio Conte, and all signs point towards an exit for the former Brazilian international.
David Luiz has been displaced by Andreas Christensen at the heart of the Chelsea defence, and the former Monchengladbach player has settled quite nicely as a starter alongside Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta. Therefore, the former PSG could be in line for an exit from Stamford Bridge, and the aforementioned report already links him with two European powerhouses.
The Mirror reported that Juventus could offer Luiz a much-needed exit from England, although the Serie A giants would probably have to pay around £22 million to land him. But they wouldn’t be the only team interested, as Manchester United also could be in the running for the 30-year-old.
Jose Mourinho is looking for a reliable replacement after losing star centre-back Eric Bailly for two to three months following ankle surgery, and Luiz would fit the bill. Plus, that would maintain the Brazilian in England, where he is reportedly comfortable.
Either way, all signs indicate Luiz is set to leave Chelsea. And based on what has happened during the current season, it seems that’s the best scenario for all parties involved.
