Napoli are recently coming off clinching a berth in the 2018-19 UEFA Europa League quarterfinals. However, the manager and the coaching staff are alredy looking to sign re-inforcements for the upcoming campaign.

One of the key areas to strengthen might be the attack. Arkadiusz Milik is having a great season, but he’s far from being the world-class striker Napoli need if they want to contend at both the domestic and European level. And they have been recently linked with a move for Inter’s out-of-favour striker Mauro Icardi.

According to a recent report over in Italy, Napoli are entering the race to sign the former Inter captain, as the Argentine striker has been trying to leave the Milan-based club for quite a while now. However, now his departure seems as real as ever. And with several teams monitoring the situation, Napoli would have to act fast.

Juventus and Real Madrid have also been mentioned as potential destinations for Icardi, who still has to decide his future and choose just where he will land. Real Madrid are the favourites, as they’re believed to have bettered the offer of €9 million per season plus €2 million in bonuses when it comes to his contract.

But Napoli shouldn’t be ruled out. They have enough money to potentially persuade Icardi to stay in Italy, as is his desire according to his inner circle.
