Jurgen Klopp has not been shy about his desire to strengthen Liverpool‘s attacking line ahead of the upcoming season. And it seems the German tactician has already set his primary target weeks before the transfer market officially opens.

According to Daily Mail, Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing a move for Kylian Mbappe, Monaco‘s highly-touted youngster who’s considered one of the top youngsters in Europe. The report goes as far as saying that Klopp “already started talks with the player” and those could intensify in the future.

Liverpool are the latest side to enter the mix for Mbappe, but the Reds will have some tough competition if they want to get the coveted forward. Real Madrid remain as the favourites to land him because they seem to be the only side willing to meet Monaco’s asking price of £100 million, but Manchester United and Arsenal are also believed to keep a close eye on the situation.

Mbappe is coming off a fantastic season with Monaco. In addition to play a key role for Les Monegasques in their Ligue 1 title run, the youngster also impressed in the UEFA Champions League and was capped by the French national team for the first team.

The 18-year-old forward finished the season with 28 goals and eight assists in 44 matches across all competitions.
