Inter Milan and Sevilla are reportedly on the verge of completing a swap that would send two struggling players in opposing directions during the coming days.

According to Italian media outlet Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter are reportedly keen to acquire Joaquin Correa, who has not been able to settle properly at Sevilla during the current season, and would be willing to offer Joao Mario in exchange.

The Nerazzurri seem prepared to cash in on the Portugal international, who has not lived up to expectations since joining from Sporting Lisbon. In fact, Mario has lost his starting place in the Serie A side, and has been limited to a secondary role at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

Correa’s situation in Sevilla is not any better, though. The Argentinian has had flashes of brilliance, but that has not been enough to convince the coaching staff. He registers just four Liga appearances during the current term, although his Copa del Rey performances have been excellent thanks to three goals in as many games.

It has been reported that Inter are looking to acquire Correa with a season-long loan deal that would include an option to buy, and it has been reported that Sevilla would be interested in that type of deal. As such, we might have news very soon regarding the new team of these two players.
