Arsene Wenger has sensationally targeted Robert Lewandowski, 27, and if he fails to land the Pole, will turn his attention to Antoine Griezmann, 25.

The Arsenal manager is under increasing pressure to add to his first team squad this summer with fans increasingly irritated by the lack of first team depth at the Emirates.

Lewandowski is currently in talks with Bayern Munich over a new contract but the Bundesliga champions, dubbed ‘FC Hollywood’ by rival supporters, are balking at his wage demands. Arsenal are ready to seizure the opportunity to bring the world class striker to the Emirates,

If that tack fails, Wenger will look to his compatriot Antoine Griezmann. Reports from Spain claim that the French international has an £86m release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract and that Wenger accepts Arsenal will gave to lay this land the striker.

Griezmann was pivotal in France’s progress to this summer’s Euro 2016 final. It’s believed he and Wenger spoke briefly at the tournament, with the Arsenal manager keen to establish if Griezmann was interested in a move to north London.

With the transfer window closing in under three weeks, the Gunners face an uphill task to make the deals happen but Wenger is pushing ahead, aware of the pressure he is under from supporters as he enters the final year of his own contract.
