It might sound crazy, but it seems Ousmane Dembele does not have space on FC Barcelona’s squad ahead of the 2018-19 season. At least not on Ernesto Valverde’s mind.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner did not set the world on fire during his first season with Barcelona, and it wouldn’t be shocking if they decide to let him, especially following the arrival of Malcom to the side. After all, Barca already sold Yerry Mina to Everton after jut six months at the Camp Nou.
This might happen since there is a team that is reportedly interested in signing the French winger. We are talking about PSG, as the reigning Ligue 1 champions have set their sights on securing a move for the talented forward who used to play for Borussia Dortmund.
PSG have started talks with the player’s representatives, but signing him is not going to be easy. After all, he has a whopping release clause set at £360 million, and Barca invested €105 million to bring the Frenchman to the Camp Nou. He might be awful, but Barca are not going to sell him for pennies on the dollar.
Dembele struggled to adapt and ended up playing only 17 La Liga matches last season with only three goals next to his name. Injuries played a part on his limited involvement, but it seems he could be the next man out of the Camp Nou for good if he doesn’t turn things around soon. PSG are already watching.
