Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek set Italian football alight with 13 goals in eight games this season, bringing a host of the Premier League elite to the Italian port city claims talkSPORT.
In an incredible start to his Serie A career, he equalled Gabriel Batistuta’s mark of scoring in his first seven league appearances. So far, Piatek managed nine goals.
As well as Liverpool and Manchester City, Barcelona are also reportedly eyeing a move for the Poland international. Tottenham Hotspur’s interest has yet to wane despite the bigger fish in the pond noticing the 23-year-old.
Piatek made a blistering start with I Rossoblu this season, having finished joint-third top scorer in the Ekstraklasa last season with 21 goals in 36 appearances. It’s form which saw him called up to the Poland squad for the World Cup only to be axed when the final 23-man roster was named. He made his full debut against the Republic of Ireland in September.
Genoa signed the striker from Cracovia during the summer in a €3.5m deal. talkSPORT claims the Italians now value their prize asset at €30m.
Piatek though, is taking it all with a pinch of salt. “I have heard that Barcelona want to sign me,” he said, before adding, “but I do not believe it.”
