The 26-year-old Spaniard slipped down the pecking order at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp turns to younger, homegrown solutions at full-back.
The Reds are considering offloading the former Sevilla left-back who made one appearance so far this season in the Carabao Cup.
Despite being capped by Spain at full international level, Klopp prefers 24-year-old Scotland international Andrew Robertson on the left side of the defence. Joe Gomez is also used occasionally by the German coach, firmly pushing Moreno down the Merseyside pecking order.
Moreno isn’t the only option being considered by the Catalans as the reigning Spanish champions want to sign a back-up to Jordi Alba. Should any injury befall the Spain international, cover is thin on the ground in the Blaugrana squad.
At present, Thomas Vermaelen, 32, is the most natural defender to fill in the role but that presumes he is fit. His injury record is dubious at best and in five seasons in Catalunya, he managed 44 first-team appearances, including 12 on loan with AS Roma.
Others being considered are Jose Luis Gaya, 23, and Juan Bernat, 25, who recently joined Paris Saint-Germain from Bayern Munich.
