Chelsea flop Michy Batshuayi is a loan target for La Liga outfit Sevilla, according to talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old Belgium international is desperate for first-team action to enhance his chances of making Roberto Martinez’s squad for the World Cup finals to be held in Russia during June this year.

A return to Marseille was heavily tipped for this winter for the striker who moved to Stamford Bridge in the wake of Euro 2016 in a €40m deal. With 23 goals in his 50 appearances for L’OM in 2015-16, great things were expected of the youngster.

However, he has failed to deliver during his sporadic first-team opportunities and Antonio Conte’s faith in the striker has all but disappeared. The arrival of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid last summer pushed Batshuayi down the pecking order.

Sevilla are reported to be in the market for a striker as they look to push into the top four of La Liga. Currently fifth, they trail fourth-placed Real Madrid by three points. Goals have been a problem for the Andalucian side with just 23 netted in their 18 league matches so far this season.

Former AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella was appointed a fortnight ago and is determined to improve their record in front of goal.
