AC Milan have been trying to get back to their European jaggernaut status they held only a few years ago and while the process has been slower than expected, they seem to be on the right track. However, that does not mean they will stop looking at players in the transfer market looking to add depth on the squad.
And according to a report from ESPN, the Rossoneri side are reportedly considering a move for former Villarreal star and current Manchester United centre-back Eric Bailly. The Ivorian has been left out of Jose Mourinho’s pecking order, and hasn’t played for The Red Devils since October 19th.
It seems as if Milan are open to pounce on his lack of playing time to submit an offer for his services, something they have previously attempted in the past. But will Manchester United part ways with the 24-year-old defender? He might not be having a good year, but it still quite young and has enough potential to become better in the coming years.
It is also good to consider that Manchester United do not have a lot of alternatives at centre-back, making the potential departure even more complicated.
Bailly joined Manchester United before the start of the 2016-17 season for a €38M fee. It is believed that The Red Devils will be hoping to receive a similar amount to part ways with the defender.
