Ousmane Dembele is considered one of the most talented youngsters in the world.
The French winger had an impressive campaign in his first year with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, and his impressive form allowed him to crack the National Team as well. As a result, some of the top teams in the world have expressed their interest in signing him this summer.
FC Barcelona, Manchester City and PSG have been the two teams that are believed to be “leading the race” to capture the services of the winger, but Dortmund are not interested to sell one of their best players. In fact, the club’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, recently stated in an interview with Die Welt that there is “no way” Dembele leaves the side this summer.
“No way. What we’ve seen [from him] was extraordinary, both in his value for team and his development. You always get the feeling he can do something special, make the difference. He can decide games by himself, even those games he’s not really involved in,” Zorc said.
Dembele joined Dortmund on a €15 million deal last summer from Rennes, and rumours these past weeks indicated that Barcelona was willing to offer around €90 million to sign the 20-year-old winger. But if Zorc words are true, then Los Blaugranas will have to find another transfer target.
Dembele finished the season with 10 goals and 21 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for BVB last season. He was especially effective in the DFB Pokal, scoring on both the semifinal and the final to help Dortmund lift the title.
