Ajax are doing great things this season. They might still be trailing to PSV Eindhoven in Eredivisie title race, but they have reached the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time since 2003, after beating reigning champions Real Madrid.
In the end, after selling Frenkie De Jong to Barcelona at the end of the season, it seems like Ajax have found their replacement for the Dutchman. Razvan Marin is 22-year-old Romanian midfielder that is coming from Standard Liege in a deal worth 12.5 million euros.
Marin has done brilliantly at Standard this season, making several clubs pay close attention to him, after scoring five goals in Jupiler league from a midfield position. The player himself already admitted he had heard about comparisons with the departing De Jong, but claimed he is a more dynamic, more offensive player than De Jong. Marin will join Ajax next season and if he proves to be just some way as De Jong, then Ajax will be in for another huge transfer.
