Manchester United Considering Move For Leon Goretzka

Manchester United have jumped into the race to acquire one of the most talented playmakers in the German Bundesliga.

According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, The Red Devils have emerged as a potential destination for Leon Goretzka. The in-demand Schalke midfielder has reportedly considered Bayern Munich or Barcelona to be his preferred destinations, but Los Blaugranas pulled out of the race and United could have received a boost on their chances to land him.

It is believed that Barcelona did not want to continue scouting him since they feel the player “is not ready” for a Camp Nou move yet.

The 22-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, so United must consider their alternatives. They can either acquire him on the cheap during the January transfer window, or they can make a move to land him as a free agent once the season ends.

Bayern Munich remain as the heavy favourites to sign the German international, though, and there will be other clubs looking to make a move for him as well. Juventus, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City have also been mentioned as destinations, but right now all signs indicate Bayern and United are on top of the race at the moment.

Goretzka has contributed with two goals in seven Bundesliga appearances for the club in the current term. He also netted twice during Germany’s title run in the 2017 Confederations Cup, where he was one of the tournament’s best players.
