Arsenal launched a stunning £14m bid for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, 32, according to a report in the Daily Mirror
However, the North London club faces serious opposition for his signature with AS Roma ready to rival their bid for the Costa Rica international.
Navas fuelled speculation that he is set to depart the Bernabeu with an Instagram post which thanked Real Madrid fans for their support.
With the arrival of Thibaut Courtois, 26, Navas fell from favour and despite Real’s indifferent start to the season, he hasn’t regained his place in the starting line-up.
Gunners fans haven’t taken to the news well, complaining the squad is in more need of a central defender than a new goalkeeper, taking to social media to vent their disapproval:
But seriously, if we buy Navas they should just turn over all the transfer decisions to that squid who picked World Cup results.

I highly doubt the club are interested in signing Navas, but what another monumental cock up that would be. €16m fee plus wages on a third keeper while we’ve already invested a ton to have Leno & Cech at the club this season. As if we don’t have other needs….
