Another transfer window, another period where Philippe Coutinho’s potential move to FC Barcelona has crowded headlines all over the world.

Los Blaugranas remain extremely interested in the Liverpool playmaker, and it has been rumored that the Brazilian does not want to play with the Reds anymore in an effort to push for a completion of the deal. However, the Anfield side is reportedly not looking to back down on their demands.

After Barcelona’s kit manufacturer, Nike, posted an ad basically saying that Coutinho to Barca was a done deal, now Liverpool are even more reluctant to part ways with their star player, and would only consider “an astronomical fee” to even think about a potential sale.

This is not the first time Liverpool make such demands to Barca. In fact, the Premier League giants already rejected three big-money offers from Barcelona during the summer, and all signs indicate they would do the same in case Barca submit an early offer in the coming days.

Liverpool will continue to stand firm, but don’t expect Los Blaugranas to stand pat, either. Knowing Coutinho might be the missing piece to replace Neymar, Barcelona will continue trying to sign him during the upcoming weeks. But at this point, it seems one of the two sides will have to give in for the transfer to be completed.
