Rafinha was quite a star on Barcelona‘s youth teams, but the Brazilian playmaker has never been able to settle as a first-team regular for Los Blaugranas. Injuries and stiff competition have made him an afterthought on the team, to the point that he is not likely to remain the club for a lot longer.
This because Los Cules are reportedly offering a Rafinha a way out of the team. According to several reports, the Barcelona midfielder has reportedly been offered to Juventus as the Catalan club look to get the injury-prone player off their books.
Having him off the squad would certainly benefit all parties involved. On one end, it would allow Barca to gain some much-needed wages relief since Rafinha has not featured since April after suffering a serious knee injury. Juventus would finally get the playmaking depth they have been looking for in recent months. And the player himself would have a bigger chance to become a regular at the Juventus Stadium outfit due to the competition he would have to face.
There is another point that has not been discussed, though. Rafinha is only 24 years old and has been looking to regain full fitness soon in an effort to contend for a spot in Brazil’s World Cup squad next summer. Not playing is not going to help him, so perhaps a move to Juventus is exactly what the former Celta player needs to finally get his career back on track after spending most of it in the sidelines over the past 12 months.
