Gareth Bale is set to leave Real Madrid this upcoming summer. That’s not a typo. The Welsh winger has lost his starting place at Los Merengues, and now everything seems set for him to play elsewhere once the 2019-20 season starts.
Apparently, Bale’s issue is related with both Florentino Perez and Santiago Solari. While the chairman believes Bale is just not good enough to be the face of the club after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure – which was the idea when they signed him from Tottenham – and Solari has removed him from the starting XI.
Indeed, Solari tends to prefer both Vinicius Jr. and Lucas Vazquez to play on the wings while Karim Benzema occupies the starting role. Simply put, he’s no longer the important player he once was at the Santiago Bernabeu outfit, and the club is ready to cash on him this summer.
It is believed that Manchester United are keen to sign him, and they could be considered as front-runners to acquire the former Spurs star. This season, Bale has 13 goals but ranks as the 15th player – when it comes to minutes played – under Solari’s tutelage with 1,097. That’s not good enough for a player of his caliber.
Don’t be surprised if he’s donning other colours once next season starts.
