AC Milan are keen to strengthen their attacking line looking towards the 2019-20 season and they won’t be shy when it comes to spending if they clinch a spot in the Champions League during the upcoming campaign.
One of the club’s priorities will be making a move for Florian Thauvin. The former Newcastle winger did not adjust to the Premier League, but he’s been impressive over the past two years for Olympique Marseille in the Ligue 1. Several teams have been tracking but, according to a report from Italian outlet CalcioMercato, the Rossoneri side has the lead on the race to acquiring him.
Prying the 26-year-old away from Marseille won’t be easy, though. He’s an integral part of the side and since they’re once again likely to compete in Europe next season, it will be hard for Marseille to part ways with one of their best players. The aforementioned report from Italy revealed that the Serie A giants will have to spend a minimum of €50million to sign him.
Thauvin is in the middle of another impressive season for the French powerhouse with 13 goals and eight assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances. He also contributed with two goals and one assist in three UEFA Europa League outings.
