Geoffery Kondogbia will reject the opportunity of a Premier League move and stay at Valencia when his loan spell finishes, claims the club’s general director Mateu Alemany.
talkSPORT reports the midfielder has already sewn up his move to the Mestalla as part of the loan deal which saw him escape Inter Milan. Alemany declared everything was signed and sealed. “We have a right to buy at the end of the season,” the Spanish club’s supremo said.
Los Che he declared, “already have an agreement with Kondogbia,” , before adding an element of doubt into the situation with, “should we exercise the option.”
Alemany’s doubts opened the door other suitors of the former Monaco midfielder. Arsenal were long-linked with a move for the five-times capped French international. However, Liverpool and Tottenham are the current leaders in the chase for the player who previously spent a season in La Liga with Sevilla.
With the Anfield outfit already sealing the signing of Naby Keita, 22, from RB Leipzig next summer, Tottenham may steal a march on their rivals for a place at the Premier League’s top table.
Valencia agreed a fee of £22m with Internazionale and in an inflated transfer market appear to have found themselves a real bargain in the process.
