Fernando Llorente is returning to Serie A! After his time at Tottenham Hotspur, the Spanish veteran will be back in Italy, as he is very close to joining Napoli. Llorente has been a free agent ever since the end of June, after his contract with Spurs expired and the Champions League runners-up decided not to extend it for another year.
In the past couple of months Llorente has been linked with several clubs, especially in Serie A. Lazio, Napoli and Lazio were all linked with the 34-year-old, but in the end, it is the Partenopei who are getting him. Sky Sports are reporting he will sign a contract that will run through June 2021.
Napoli at first wanted to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter, but when they realized they will not be able to do that, they turned to their short-term solution. Llorente arrives after scoring 13 goals for Tottenham last season.
