FC Barcelona have insisted they do not want to part ways with Neymar. However, all signs indicate the Brazilian winger is set to join PSG this summer. And the move could happen sooner than later.
With that in mind, Barcelona are reportedly looking at alternatives to replace the Brazilian. And according to a report from The Daily Star, Los Cules have targeted three Premier League stars: Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, and Tottenham’s Dele Alli.
Out of these three players, Hazard is the one who makes more sense. He could be plugged into the starting XI right away as Neymar’s replacement, and is widely considered one of the best wingers in the world.
Coutinho would give Barca some much-needed versatility in the final third. The Brazilian can play all over the attacking line, and that mobiity could create havoc on the opposing defences. Barcelona have already agreed to personal terms with him, and out of the three, he is the one who is closer to land at Camp Nou in the near future.
Alli’s case is a bit more complicated. He plays either on the right or in the centre, so he would basically overlap a bit with Lionel Messi. But on the other hand, he is a talented playmaker who was one of the top scorers in the EPL last season. That kind of talent can fit anywhere, and his pacey style would give Barca a much-needed change of pace.
We will have to wait and see what Barcelona want to do to replace their set-to-depart star forward. But it seems clear Los Blaugranas are already preparing for life after Ney.
