There has been a lot of talk regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential return to the English Premier League after the 2018 World Cup.
The Portuguese superstar is reportedly “unhappy” with life in Spain, and would be keen to leave Real Madrid in order to return to England. However, recent reports have indicated Ronaldo might not end up at Manchester United, and that Chelsea has also emerged as a viable alternative to acquire the Madrid superstar.
It has been mentioned that Ronaldo’s arrival to Old Trafford might not happen due to the Red Devils’ recent signing of Alexis Sanchez. Chelsea would consider taking advantage of that, although the key for the transfer fee would be Eden Hazard. Los Merengues want the Belgium international, and chances are both clubs could start talks regarding a potential swap.
Ronaldo could be tempted with a move to the reigning EPL champions, while Chelsea “could be tempted to let Hazard leave for the Bernabeu if Ronaldo was included in a deal.” It certainly looks like a move where both parties would be benefited, as CR7 wants to come back to England and Chelsea would undoubtedly take advantage of the chance of acquiring one of the best players in the world.
Will it happen? That remains to be seen.
