Chelsea are eyeing a big-money move for Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, who is currently the top scorer in the Serie A and has emerged as one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season.

Chelsea suffered the departure of Diego Costa last month but so far they have not had problems to replace the Spaniard. Alvaro Morata has looked better than advertised, and Michy Batshuayi has taken a big step forward in his development over recent months.

However, The Blues are not happy and are reportedly looking to add at least one more striker in the near future, and the Lazio star would be the preferred option according to a report from The Sun.

However, it won’t be an easy signing for Chelsea. Aside from the fact that Lazio are obviously not keen to lose their star striker, there is also the fact that Immobile is not going to be a cheap player. Lazio president Claudio Lotito has settled a £53M price tag on Immobile’s head, but Chelsea are likely to offer players in part-exchange in order to sweeten a potential deal.

The one thing that is clear is that Chelsea are definitively keen to sign the forward, as Antonio Conte believes Immobile will be the perfect partner for Morata upfront. The Italy international has been in blistering form this season, scoring 13 goals in just 10 Serie A matches so far while making Lazio a bonafide title contender.
