Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang urged Arsenal to break their transfer record once again this summer, claims talkSPORT.

The 29-year-old Gabon international is keen for the north London club to sign former Borussia Dortmund team-mate Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

Reports in Spain claim Aubameyang is desperate to reunite with the France international after they formed an electric partnership at the Bundesliga club.

With Sven Mislintat, formerly of Borussia Dortmund, heading up Arsenal’s recruitment department, there are plenty of connections to appeal to the 20-year-old should he decide to leave the Camp Nou.

There are several sticking points, not least of which is the fee. The deal which took Dembele to Catalunya can rise to £135.5m with bonuses so much will depend on the club’s ability to negotiate its’ way out of the additional payments.

It is claimed that Barcelona are, however, open to selling the youngster after he suffered injuries which saw him miss five months of this season so far. With one goal in 13 appearances, his return has been disappointing after the hype surrounding his move.

A potential fly in the ointment is Real Madrid’s interest in Liverpool’s flying winger Mo Salah. The 25-year-old is currently in talks over a new deal worth £200,000 per week after a scintillating debut season at Anfield.

However, if Real make the eye-watering offer they would need to buy the Egypt international, Liverpool are expected to move for Dembele themselves. After Suarez and Coutinho moved between Anfield and the Camp Nou, it would be a pleasant change for Reds supporters if a star player came the other way.
