Real Madrid‘s sluggish start to the season could make them quite active on the January transfer window. And Los Merengues are reportedly planning to acquire one of the most talented wingers in Europe who is currently out of favour at his club.
According to TalkSport, Real Madrid are keen to make a move for Julian Draxler, a German international who plays for PSG. The German winger had also been linked with a move to Arsenal, but now it seems Real Madrid have taken the pole position on the race to signing duing the January transfer window.
In fact, the aforementioned report even indicated that Los Blancos want to complete a £30m deal for the talented playmaker. Arsenal are not out of the race to land him, however, as Arsene Wenger want Draxler at the Emirates Stadium as a potential replacement for contract rebels such as Mesut Özil or Alexis Sanchez. Both could leave The Gunners once the current season ends.
It is not crazy to imagine Draxler playing elsewhere, and he is desperate to make a move. Considering he needs to play regularly in order to make Germany’s World Cup squad next season, and after being pushed down the pecking order by the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, all signs indicate he will be playing for a new club sooner than later.
